Disturbingly, the Legal Center for the Rights of the Arab Minority in Israel (Adalah) reported back in 2017 that the future community housing these towns will open exclusively to “Israeli citizens, Jews, or permanent residents who observe Orthodox Jewish laws.” In other words, it’s a straight-up ethnic exclusion.

Ignoring History and Rights

Let’s confront the cold hard facts: Israel refuses to recognize a staggering 36 semi-nomadic Bedouin villages that have existed since before the state was established in 1948! And out of the few recognized over the past two decades, many remain devoid of basic amenities.

“The destruction of Umm Al Hiran this morning epitomizes the face of institutionalized racism in its most extreme form,” the RCUV lamented, highlighting the grave injustice meted out by authorities.
