The fiercely anti-Chavista leader María Corina Machado has boldly claimed this Tuesday that Nicolás Maduro’s tyrannical regime has “kidnapped” Luis Tarbay, a dedicated coordinator of the international teams fighting for freedom in the World with Venezuela campaign. This shocking act is just another reminder of the lengths to which the Maduro regime will go to silence dissent.
In a passionate plea through X, Machado urged,
“I ask all Venezuelans around the world and here in our country to raise their voices very hard for their freedom.”

The Human Rights Committee of Vente Venezuela (VV), the party spearheaded by Machado, highlighted that Tarbay “has not committed any crime”, a fact that begs the question: why is he being persecuted? They demand his immediate release, reaffirming that he is targeted simply for standing up against injustice.
“He is persecuted for organizing and supporting the Venezuelan diaspora that voices their outrage against tyranny,” declared VV on X, affirming the widespread nature of this blatant assault on freedom.
Tarbay’s reckless arrest adds to a troubling pattern with the recent detainment of four VV members, including the former councilman of Caracas, Jesús Armas, and the mayor of Cabimas, Nabil Maalouf. This orchestrated crackdown is an affront to all Venezuelans yearning for their God-given rights.

Juan Pablo Guanipa, an outspoken member of the opposition, criticized what he terms as a growing wave of “arbitrary arrests,” intended to “silence those who raise their voices for truth and justice.” These actions are not just random; they represent a systematic attempt to crush dissent.
“These and many other cases are not isolated. They are part of a systematic pattern of persecution and repression,”

According to VV, there are currently 164 leaders and activists imprisoned, most of whom belong to the main anti-Chavista coalition, the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD). They are labeled “political prisoners” while Maduro continues his charade, denying any political motivations behind their detentions.
