The Grim Reality: War is Our Norm

Before the Russian bear unleashed its aggression against Ukraine, this nation was a tumultuous stage where pro-European and pro-Russian sentiments clashed amid an uneasy peace. But let’s face it—was that peace ever real? It seems the myth of European peace crumbled the moment Putin made his move. The corrupt oligarchs were partying while the rest of us thought we were safe. Little did we know that a storm was brewing!

And here’s the kicker: at the helm of Ukrainian leadership, we had Volodymyr Zelensky—a comedian turned president, chosen amidst chaos. Imagine if Britain had a cinematic joke as a leader instead of an iron-fisted leader like Margaret Thatcher! The absurdity of this situation puts our trust in ridiculous places.

Janus: The Two-Faced Truth

Janus, the Roman god of beginnings and endings, resonates today more than ever. His temple had doors that remained open throughout wars. Perhaps war is the norm, not peace! Politicians spout lofty ideals, proclaiming a state of peace in Europe. But do we dare believe it? The doors of Janus are wide open, signaling conflict is still in the air.

“Will we ever truly embrace peace when it’s easier to perpetuate war?”

We’re outraged over Putin’s mercenaries and even North Korean soldiers being deployed, yet we forget: aren’t Ukrainians effectively serving as our mercenaries in this conflict? We provide endless supplies, yet dare not send our own youth into the trenches. We’d rather keep our own children safe while others pay the price!

When Donald Trump won the presidency, Zelensky thanked him for his ‘peace through strength’ policy. What a twist! Why don’t we tell it to the likes of Putin, Xi Jinping, or Kim Jong-Un, who are probably laughing at our naivete!

MEPs Singing a Different Tune

As well-paid MEPs, possibly including Puigdemont, crooned in the halls of the European Parliament, Ursula von der Leyen chimed in with absurdity, declaring, “In no European language is peace synonymous with surrender.” Really? Wake up, people! The fight for freedom isn’t just a nostalgic echo of the past; it’s a call to arms!

Now, isn’t it ironic that in every war, peace must exist—or so they say? But what if this *phony war*, as seen in the French escapade that led to major betrayals, is precisely where we stand today? The doors of Janus remain ajar, I tell you. We’re sold a dream of peace as if it’s a guarantee, but it resembles a mere chimera. Is peace truly not synonymous with surrender? Or maybe it is!

“We can no longer be fooled; the chaos of war is more real than the illusion of peace!”

You must ask yourself: will we allow the facade of fake peace to blind us from the harsh realities of our times?
